The Right Fork Diner 508-627-5522 (Summer only)
12 Mattakesett Way (right at Katama Field Airport). You can’t miss this place during your visit. Terrific diner food served inside or on their deck right in the center of it all at Katama Airfield. Watch the small private planes and the tour planes take off and land. Kids “of all ages” love it. TIP- Limited seating and it fills up very quickly so phone ahead and go early early for breakfast or lunch. Just a short bike ride from the house, a fun place to go. The bi-plane tours of the island are fun too.

The Black Dog Tavern, 508-693-9223
No Reservations-Call ahead to see if it is still BYOB since the laws in this town are evolving and the name ‘Tavern’ has long been misleading!
Beach Street Ext. in Vineyard Haven
If you are determined to brave the long lines to eat at the super touristy, “unofficial symbol” of Martha’s Vineyard”, The Black Dog Tavern, this is where it is. Located on the harbor, it is certainly picturesque. I confess to loving the breakfast menu as much as the equally hard to get into Art Cliff Diner located nearby. But lunch and dinner are unremarkable and not worth the lines/long wait. A better bet is to buy and snack on some of the amazingly good pastries, or even the soup and sandwiches available at The Black Dog Bakery located on the same site, skipping the wait for the restaurant, and, buy the Black Dog logowear if you must at one of the many, many, MANY Black Dog shops on the island.

TIPS-
1. If you are on the island in August, make reservations ahead of time or be prepared to eat late or wait.
2. While there IS take out/pick up, there is no pizza delivery to Katama.
